HIFI ELITE Super66 Over Ear Wireless Headphones
As a lover of music it’s been a real challenge trying to settle on a single set of wireless Bluetooth headphones or a headset, but I think my relentless pursuit of that goal may be bearing fruit. In the last week or so I’ve been able to track down some top-quality headphones through a little patience and a lot of research. The problem is there are so many companies out there competing for your loyalty that you have to work hard to sift through all of their self-promoting rhetoric to get to the truth. It’s certainly a process, but it’s one that’s worthwhile in the long run.
One of the best pair of headphones I’ve found so far aren’t necessarily the most expensive. The HIFI ELITE Super66 headphones combine the right blend of features at the right price to satisfy just about any audiophile. It’s a great product for a lot of reasons and we’ll take a closer look at them below.
Rich Hi-Fi Sound
When you listen to music over headphones you’re bound to lose a little bit of the volume you may be used to with first-class stereo systems that you have in your home. The reason for this is that in order for speakers to fit inside your headphones they have to be miniaturized – that can result in an overall degradation of sound and, at higher volumes, even a little bit of distortion. The speakers built into the HIFI ELITE Super66 do a great job of eliminating this distortion and maintaining the sound quality you’re used to with a standard stereo system. The result is a distortion free sound with powerful bass and perfect pitch on the treble notes.
Sometimes when you’re listening to your music over your headphones you’re trying to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, which means you don’t want to hear the noise going on around you. Personally, I like to sit on the patio and eat my supper; to eliminate the noise from the neighbors I simply throw on my headphones, sit back, and listen to my music. I also like to wear my headphones at the gym to eliminate all the chatter around me so I can concentrate on my workout. I think a lot of people share this desire to escape from reality once in a while and these headphones are great for that. They have patented noise-isolating technology that allow you to drown out the sound around you and concentrate on what you’re doing while listening to your music.
Crystal Clear Calls
With the Elite 66’s built-in microphone you also have the option of using your headphones for making calls. To switch between your music and an incoming call all you have to do is tap on a simple control located on the side of your headphones. Not only will you hear the person on the other end clearly, they’ll also hear you clearly. After looking at a lot of these headphones it’s become clear to me that a lot of them don’t do very well at handling calls so I was pleased to find out that this pair did.
Battery life is always important when you’re talking about a wireless product like this pair of Bluetooth headphones. So how do these compare against the competition? Well, they’re better than average with about 10 hours of continuous play time and you don’t really have to worry about them running out because the manufacturer also provides you with a plug-in wire; you can use this to plug the headphones into your device if the battery does run low while you’re using them. Obviously, this solution will never be your first choice, as you’re buying these headphones because of the wireless capability, but it’s nice to have a backup.
Some Things to Keep in Mind
There’s no doubt in my mind that these headphones are great value for the money, but they’re not perfect and some customers have run into issues with them. One issue that seems to be a problem for more than one customer is an occasional issue with the Bluetooth connection. A few customers have complained that the Bluetooth connection can be spotty at times, with the music completely cutting out. In particular, this seems to be a problem that Apple iPhone and iPad users run into more often than any others. There are also a few customers that have complained about the battery life – especially after using the product for a couple of months.
Bringing the Noise
The HIFI ELITE Super66 headphones provide top-quality wireless sound at a price that most of us can afford. They have all the features you’ll find in much more expensive headphones and they’re also a great looking pair of headphones as well. I’m a big fan of the option to plug-in when your battery runs low and I love the idea of the noise-isolating technology. There are better headphones out there, but probably not at this price level.
